Granola is one of the most satisfying foods, crunchy and rich at the same time, with bursts of fruit or nuts… The best part? It’s easy to make, and you can create your own recipe! The basic ingredients of granola are rolled oats, some fat (coconut oil for instance), and a sweetener (coconut sugar, maple syrup, honey…). Then, you can add seasoning (vanilla extract, salt), seeds (chia seeds, hemp seeds), bits of nuts (almonds, pecans, roasted cashews…) or fruits (freeze-dried strawberries or freeze-dried raspberries for instance).
4 cups rolled oats
½ cup honey
3 tbsp coconut oil, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp Natierra® Fine Pink Salt (link to fine Pink Salt)
1 cup of seeds and nuts: mix of almonds, Natierra® Organic and Fair Trade Chia seeds, Natierra® Organic Shelled Hemp Seeds and sunflower seeds
Preheat oven to 325ºF. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, coconut oil, vanilla extract and salt. Stir until you get a homogeneous mixture. Incorporate oats, seeds and nuts. Stir until all the dry ingredients are coated with the mixture. Spread the mixture in a thin layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. With the back of a spoon, press on oats to even out and obtain a compact granola (especially if you want clusters!). Bake for 25 minutes. Enjoy! Store the leftovers in an airtight container or mason jar.
