4 Great Ways To Use Hemp Seeds

You may have seen these little seeds at your local store, and wondered what they are and how to use them. Hemp seeds are nutrient-packed seeds: they contain Omegas-3 and -6, and they are an excellent source of Iron and Magnesium. And did we mention their subtle nutty taste? They will soon become your pantry staple!

Here are four easy ways to include Hemp seeds in your routine:

1. As a Salad Topper

Salads are the go-to dinner for summer nights, and the perfect side dish for a well-balanced meal. However, it is not always easy to find inspiration and try a variety of recipes.

Tip: playing with your toppings is a fun way to shake things up! Forget croutons and tortilla crisps for a minute, and say hello to Hemp seeds! Sprinkle your salad with Hemp seeds to give it a nutritious boost, while adding a delicious nutty flavor. That’s a major win in our book!

 

2. In Pesto

Whether you like your pesto on pasta, on chicken, or on salmon, including Hemp seeds in your recipe will give your dish extra omegas-3 and -6!

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cloves fresh garlic
1/2 cup Natierra Organic Shelled Hemp seeds
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 package fresh basil leaves
1/4 cup olive oil
Pink Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1 lemon wedge

Directions:

Throw garlic cloves into food processor and pulse until chopped. Add shelled Hemp seeds and parmesan cheese until coarsely chopped. Add basil and olive oil, processing until smooth or of desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper. Squeeze lemon juice to top off flavor.

 

3. On Avocado Toast or Bagel

There are some combos that just work: PB & J, chocolate and strawberries… Avocado and Hemp seeds are one of them! Taste this avocado-hemp goodness by sprinkling Hemp seeds on your avocado toast! It will take your avocado toast to the next level, while fueling your body with nutrients.

 

4. In Hummus

Give a nutritious boost to your hummus by including Hemp seeds! You won’t feel the difference in terms of taste, but your body will thank you for these extra nutrients! Simply replace the tahini with Hemp seeds and water in your favorite hummus recipe. A good ratio is 2 tbsp of Hemp seeds and 2 tbsp water as a replacement for 1/2 cup tahini.

The best part? This Hemp seed hummus is very versatile, you can use it in sandwiches or as a dip for your veggies!
